Reenactment
For Reenactment, I worked solely with materials handed down to me by my late grandfather, a photographer for the U.S. Navy. I manipulated slides, prints, envelopes, and film in the dark room by creating contact prints and collages with light to create images reenacting the darkroom processes that he and I held/hold so dear. Reenactment was a successful effort to feel closer to my grandfather, working through his personal and declassified Naval film helped me to understand different facets of a man who I have only been able to know through memories.
